Results – MEL Center Meet 10-01-03 Lagoon Valley Park – Vacaville DHS Cross Country Sweeps all divisions against all teams in MEL Center meet. All six MEL schools competed against each other in a league cross country center meet at Lagoon Valley Park yesterday. Davis High swept all four divisions to remain undefeated in league competition. The varsity boys had five runners in the top 13. At two miles they appeared to have only a three point lead over rival Vacaville, but some hard running in the final mile padded the score as the Blue Devils finished with 39 points, ten points ahead of Vacaville’s 49 points. Thad Sieracki and Ricky Martin finished third and fourth for the Blue Devils. The varsity girls scored a convincing win and put three runners in top ten and five in the top 15. They were led by Kaitlin Gregg (2nd), Veronica Miqueo (4th), and Chelsea Reilly (7th). Patrick Lynch and Brendan Gregg finished first and second for the frosh/soph boys as they had five of the top six finishers. The frosh/soph girls took five of the top eleven spots with Grace Pettygrove (4th) and Sarah Chan (5th) leading the way. Many runners registered vastly improved times from their September 13th effort at the Lagoon Valley Classic on the same course. The Blue Devils run again Saturday against 25 other schools as they co-host with Woodland High the inaugural Yolo County Championships at Muller Ranch in Yolo.
