Parent Volunteering

Hello Parents:

With a team of over 150 athletes, it is vital to have parent help. Please note which jobs you may be able to help with and let us know by sending an email to Carolee Gregg atclbgregg@aol.com. Many thanks!

  • Help purchase food for camp - August 20
    Costco (Woodland) run on Wednesday, August 20 - bring food back to Davis
  • Parent helper at Labor Day Run - September 1
    Help out with course monitors or at finish line. We also need 3 vehicles to be parked at various locations on the greenbelt.
  • Help out at Jesuit/Davis Jamboree XC meet on September 13
    Help with packet pick up, set up and take down, start and finish line
  • Parent Drivers for hill workouts
    Help transport athletes to/from occasional workouts in Woodland and Vacaville during the season (4-6 pm).
  • Sweatshirt orders
    Collect orders and payment, tabulate and distribute to athletes (September)
  • Parent t-shirt orders
    Collect orders and payment, tabulate and place order, and distribute to parents (September)
  • Mt. Sac Chaperones
    Chaperone athletes at Mt.Sac/Disneyland trip Oct. 24-26 (Friday-Sunday).
  • Team Pictures
    Collect orders, help on picture day (late Oct) and distribute photos at banquet.
  • Banquet Coordinator
    In charge of end of season banquet; oversee volunteers. Banquet is tentatively Sunday December 14.
  • Banquet Volunteers
    Help banquet coordinator with end of season banquet, including set up and clean up.
  • Memory Book
    Help with memory book for banquet.

Coach Gregg has been the Cross Country and Distance Track Coach at Davis High School since 1997. Honored as "Coach of the Year" by the Sacramento Running Association for the 2014 Cross Country season, Bill has led teams and individual runners to great success, including 20 Sac Joaquin Section Cross Country titles, multiple top finishes at California state championships, and national meets. Coach Gregg also has two children (Brendan and Kaitlin) who are pursuing post-collegiate running careers.

Assistant Coach

Coach Tim was an assistant Cross Country coach at Holmes Jr. High School for 4 years and has been an assistant coach for their Track & Field team for the past 5 years. He currently is an assistant coach at DHS for both the Cross Country team and the distance squad of Track & Field. Coach Tim ran Cross Country and Track for DHS and is thrilled to be working with the next generation of distance runners.

Coach Elliott began his track and field career at Saint Francis High School in Mountainview, Calfornia and then went on to compete at the NCAA level at U.C. Davis, specializing in the 400m and 200m sprints. Since 2004, he has served as head boys and girls track and field coach at Davis Senior High School , where he also teaches English. In 2007 he was named All-Metro "Coach of the Year" by the Sacramento Bee. In 2008 he was named "Girls Coach of the Year" for the state of California by the California Coaches Association.
